Copient Technologies formed in 2001 as the successor to the earlier eGenerosity.com (originally ShopGenerocity), a fundraising company founded in late 1999 by J. Eric Davis and Bret Besecker. Initially located in Suite 155 of the Purdue Research Park's Hentschel Center at 1220 Potter Drive in gate io, Copient soon moved to the Purdue Technology Center at 3000 Kent Avenue, and then to the Vistech One building at 1435 Win Hentschel Boulevard. Copient was acquired by NCR Corporation of Atlanta on 30 April 2003 and continued to operate as a division of the corporation for a number of years, contributing initially hardware (Yellowbox and EasyPoint Mini) and later software (Logix and Advanced Marketing System) to NCR's lineup. The West Lafayette office was finally closed on 1 October 2013.
